A lot of yards around Minneapolis look fine from a distance but fall apart up close. Beds blending into the lawn. Mulch that's broken down into nothing. Plants sitting in bare dirt with no definition around them. It's the kind of thing that's easy to ignore until you really look at it - and then you can't stop noticing it.
This was a big one. We worked across multiple bed areas on the property - front yard, side yards, and back - giving each zone a consistent, clean look. Fresh dark mulch went down throughout, which does more than just look good. It holds moisture, keeps weeds down, and protects root systems heading into the growing season. Every bed got topped off and smoothed out properly.
The stone edging work is what really ties it all together. Tumbled stone pavers were set along the bed lines to create a hard boundary between the mulch and the lawn. That separation matters. It keeps grass from creeping in, gives the mower a clean line to follow, and makes the whole yard feel intentional. Some areas had existing edging that we worked around, and others got new runs of stone to define spaces that didn't have any structure before.
We also handled new plant installs in several areas - hostas, ferns, and other perennials tucked into the freshly mulched beds. The fern section along the fence line came out especially well, with plants spaced evenly and set in dark mulch that makes the green pop. A tree ring in the front yard got cleaned up with a fresh layer of dark mulch and a flexible edging border to keep that circle shape tight and neat. These are small details, but they add up fast across a full property.
We do a lot of this kind of work for homeowners in the Minneapolis area who want their yard to look sharp without having to manage every bit of it themselves. Getting the edging right, using quality mulch, and thinking through plant placement - that's what separates a yard that looks cared for from one that just looks mowed.
