Here's what we were working with - beds full of dead leaves, broken-down old mulch, and weeds that had taken over through the winter. It's the kind of thing that sneaks up on you. The beds look tired, the plants get lost in all the mess, and the whole front of the house ends up looking neglected even if everything else is well-kept.
We started by clearing out the debris and pulling weeds across multiple beds - from the sloped front beds along the driveway all the way around to the side and back of the house. Once everything was cleaned out, we laid fresh dark mulch across every bed. That rich, dark color does a lot of work. It immediately creates contrast against the plants and hardscape, and it gives the whole yard a sharp, finished look.
One thing worth knowing - fresh mulch isn't just about appearance. It helps hold moisture in the soil, suppresses weed growth, and gives your plants a healthier environment to grow through the season. It's one of those services that pays off both visually and practically.
What ended up being a multi-area job covered the front slope, both side beds, the raised timber-framed beds, and even a raised octagonal planter near the back patio. Every section got the same attention - cleared, cleaned, and mulched consistently. No skipped corners, no rushed spots.
